NEIBA is the non-profit trade association for the retail book industry in New England. NEIBA promotes independent bookselling in the six New England (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont) and New York through an annual Fall Conference, educational programming, publications, resources, and promotional programs.

Paperbark: A Literary Magazine

Housed under UMass, Amherst's MFA program, Paperbark is an interdisciplinary literary magazine dedicated to environmental themes. 

​

I oversee submission & response processes through Submittable, oversee printing and distribution, and am the sole contact to Paperbark's advisory board. See Issue 03 and Issue 04, published under my leadership, here.

2021, 2022, & 2023 Prize

​

Manuscript reader for The Junpier Prize for Nonfiction (2021) for The Juniper Prize for Fiction (2022), and for The Juniper Prize for Short Story Collection (2023) hosted by University of Massachusetts Press. Reviewed nearly 50 full-length manuscripts for final selection in the span of two months. 

UMass Game Labs

August 2021 - May 2022

UMass Game Labs is an interdisciplinary student-led group designing a 2D point-and-click adventure game. As the graduate advisor, I managed the undergraduate participants.

​

Along with two other writers, I developed the main narrative arc of this game and wrote the character dialogue.

Overheard

June 2019 - Present

​

Overheard is a bi-annual literary magazine published in both print and digital forms. I approve and finalize all editorial features, manage a small staff of volunteers, and solicit submissions. I created and update our website, as well as manage social media presence on Twitter @overheardlit.

Chirp

June 2020 - March 2022

​

Wrote over 1000 short blurbs for the audiobook retailer, Chirp, intended for on-site and promotional marketing copy. Includes audiobook genres such as: General Fiction, Romance, History, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and more. 

BookBub

July 2018 - June 2020

​

Wrote, edited, and proofed (Chicago Manual of Style) daily book blurbs to be sent to over 10 million readers. Collaborated with freelancers to ideate and publish over 75 reader-facing blog posts. 
Social Media Manager of the BookBub Instagram (@bookbub), grown from 18k followers to over 74k under my direct management.
 

Citizen Schools

Mentored ESL eighth graders during weekly one-on-one sessions to guide their writing for high school applications. Taught a weekly class on Social Entrepreneurship to fifth graders.

Wellington Square Bookshop

Hosted bookstore events such as book club, open mic night, and children’s craft fairs.
Contributed book reviews to the Wellington Square “Book Suggestion” blog.
